Co-opportunity Market & Deli is looking for a Marketing Director

Our co-op serves a diverse community and we know that great food means different things to different people. We're not food fundamentalists. We want to help people make their own choices about which products are good for the health of their families, the community and the world.

The Marketing Director is a key team member of the leadership team. You are responsible for promoting the Co-op, both in-store, in the community and on social media.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

I.  LEADERSHIP

  1. Serve as a member of the senior leadership team for the Co-op, providing support to the Operations Director (OD) and other management team members in order to meet the organization's goals. 
  2. Commit to and adhere to all leadership standards for conduct, communication and professionalism.
  3. Seek solutions that maintain the co-op's best interest. 
  4. Provide effective leadership for the marketing team that fosters excellent communication, setting and monitoring of team goals and strong planning processes. 

II.       MARKETING & BRAND MANAGEMENT

  1. Develop and execute an annual marketing plan to support the strategic priorities and objectives of the Co-op.
  2. Maintain current brand standards guidelines for use in training staff and supporting the leadership team's enforcement of brand.
  3. Ensure advertising and customer-facing communications support the brand and current promotions.
  4. Measure and report to OD on efficacy of advertising and marketing. 

III.   PROMOTIONS

  1. Coordinate and participate in regular store promotions meetings to ensure appropriate and effective strategies are used to execute the brand within the store and externally.
  2. Provide timely and effective materials (such as specials flyers, coupons, recipes, etc.) to support promotional plans and branding.
  3. Keep staff informed of promotions and other upcoming promotional events.

IV.  COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & PUBLIC RELATIONS

  1. Maintain and monitor channels of communication with members and shoppers, including administration of surveys, customer resource management (CRM) systems, online reviews, and social media interactions. 
  2. Maintain connections with the community through sponsorships and participation and/or creation of community events that support the brand and the organization's growth objectives.
  3. Utilize appropriate online and print media to educate and inform shoppers and the community about issues and topics that support the brand and the organizations growth objectives.
  4. Establish and maintain a program of educational classes that engage the community and support the brand.

V.    MEMBER SERVICES AND MEMBERSHIP ADMINISTRATION

Supervise Membership Coordinator in the following:

  1. Member recruitment and participation
  2. Member records
  3. Member benefits
  4. Member outreach
  5. Member and Board administrative

VI.  PERSONNEL'Supervise all Marketing Department Team members.

(NOTE: Currently Membership Coordinator and Branding Coordinator/Graphic Artist)

VII. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Attend Store Leadership Team
  2. Perform other tasks assigned by Operations Director

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Significant experience with marketing strategies and processes.
  • Ability to create, administer and work with budgets.
  • Familiarity with natural food products.
  • Excellent communication skills: Oral, written and active listening. 
  • Demonstrated success in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands. 
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately in a fast-paced busy work enviorment. 
  • Supervision and leadership experience--hiring, training, evaluating, directing, strategic planning and coaching.
  • Reliable, predictable attendance with willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary.
